Cape Town E-Prix

The E-FEST Cape Town is a week of special events, festivities, and entertainment created to celebrate sustainability, alternative e-mobility, and renewable energy solutions. Africa's Green Economy Summit is co-located with E-FEST Cape Town, and the Cape Town E-Prix takes place in the same week!

Formula E is the world’s first international, fully-electric street racing series aimed at bringing the latest innovations in electric vehicles and alternative energy solutions to the world’s major city centres by creating a motorsport experience that will excite generations to embrace clean energy, for a cleaner, faster future. The Cape Town E-Prix will be the first Formula-E Event to be hosted in Sub-Saharan Africa and the first major open-wheel race hosted in South African since 1993 when the last Formula-1 Race was hosted at Kyalami.


The event is a platform and proponent to showcase e-mobility, renewable energy technologies and smart cities.
